The skin is a complex system composed of numerous cells, in which each cell has specific optical properties. Numerous studies have sought to study the different interactions of the main skin chromophores with the full range of light spectrum, allowing us to predict the possible interactions between light and skin.
Low Level Light Therapy, also known as LLLT encompasses all of the non-invasive phototherapy technologies using low intensity lights and specific wavelengths to stimulate biological mechanisms for therapeutic purposes. Initially used with low intensity lasers, the technology has been studied since the 1960s for its positive effect on biological tissues. However, the use of these coherent lights is very costly.
The quasi-coherent LED luminous sources (Light Emitting Diodes) are an alternative to that type of treatment. LEDs are non-invasive, thermally nondestructive (in the visible spectrum) and have undeniable advantages. Moreover, they allow for a greater illumination of the surface and can be modulated according to the treatment zone.
LED photomodulation is the newest category of non-thermal light therapy to be used in dermatology and cosmetics for over 10 years. - Anti-ageing
The combination of wavelengths (645 nm and 830 nm), deeply stimulates the skin and optimize photorejuvenation.
